Gapless

Even across sample rates, so mixes and live albums never stutter.

Real-time engine

The audio engine never allocates or blocks while it plays.

Unplug, carry on

Pull out your headphones and it picks up from the same spot.

Every one of these targets is checked by a benchmark that ships with the app.

Digging

Dig Discogs without leaving the player.

Paste to dig

Copy a Discogs address. Press ⌘V. Hear everything.

Every track on the page shows up as a preview you can play: labels, artists, releases, masters, lists, wantlists, collections and marketplace items.

  • Entries show up straight away and fill in as details arrive, nearest the playhead first.
  • Vinyl comes first: when a record also exists as a file or on CD, you get the vinyl release, with its catalog number, cover and what's for sale.
  • No clip on Discogs? It finds one. Tracks without a video are matched on YouTube by title, artist and length, so new releases play too.

Crates, like a record bag.

Each crate is a named playlist, and switching crates never stops the music.

It understands the music.

Every track is analyzed about two minutes ahead of what you hear, in the background, so it never gets in the way.

  • Tempo, beat grid, bars and sections: intro, build, drop, breakdown, groove and outro.
  • Jump by structure: ] goes to the next section and Shift+] to the next drop, right on the bar line.
  • Loop on the beat: a section, or 4, 8 or 16 bars, with no gap.
  • A waveform coloured by frequency, so kicks and hats are easy to tell apart.

06 · The show

Press F. A fullscreen show that's on the beat.

Fractal visuals run on musical time, so every hit lands on the beat you hear, at a steady 60 fps.

  • A director that follows the song's structure: it cuts to your favourite look on a drop, goes calm in a breakdown, and brings a look back when its section does.
  • Play it like an instrument: a fader deck with 6 macros, a key to mutate the look and a key to keep it. Rate your looks and the director picks your favourites more often.
  • The same song always gets the same show.
  • Write your own scenes: one shader and one settings file. Edit them while the music plays and the show updates live.

Classic looks, modern core.

A Winamp 2.x–style player drawn from an original pixel-art skin, with a 10-band EQ and a resonant DJ low-pass filter you can sweep over everything that plays. Underneath is a modern Rust audio engine.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Who is Diggr for?

Vinyl and digital DJs, selectors, radio hosts and record collectors: anyone who spends nights going through labels, artists and sellers on Discogs looking for the right record.

Do I need a Discogs account?

Not to listen. Paste any Discogs page and the previews play. Connect your Discogs account when you want Y, N and Add to collection to sync with your wantlist and collection.

Does it play my own files too?

Yes. It's a full music player: drag files or folders onto the window and they get the same gapless engine, analysis, crates and visuals.

Which computers does it run on?

macOS, Linux and Windows. It's a native app built in Rust, so it launches in under 300 ms and stays light. A web version is coming.

When can I use it?

We're letting people in from the waitlist in small batches. Join now and you'll be among the first to get it, free during the beta.
